"We are totally apolitical...with us; it is strictly about the dog".
Marsha Boulton
I am a city girl who moved from Toronto to a farm in southwestern Ontario, and started raising sheep and other critters 30 years ago. Wally the Wonder Dog was my first bull terrier experience and what a great one it was. I am also a professional writer and Wally so thoroughly inveigled himself into my life that I ended up writing a memoir of life with him. Wally's World was published in Canada and the U.S. and subsequently around the world in places like Australia, Czech Republic and Brazil. The book opened an opportunity to host Wally's Weeks, encouraging dog adoption at shelters all over Ontario and in New York City, Maryland and Pennsylvania. In conjunction with the ASPCA, we gave away more than 300 Wally's Week adoption gift bags at a Pet Adoption Expo in Tampa, FL. It has been an eye-opening experience - rewarding but also heartbreaking. Wally may be gone, but he remains the gift that keeps on giving. Now we have Monk, a brindle boy who is very much his own Bull Terrier and a source of great joy and amusement. He came to us from fellow-Bullies Without Borders Mom Teena Troy's first Bullyhill Kennel litter and I am so thankful she entrusted him to us - Monk-E, Felonious Monk, Monkinator, Monkster, and Bullyhill’s Straight No Chaser. I can't imagine life without a Bull Terrier and I wish every Bull Terrier had as happy a life as Wally and Monk. Raising funds with Bullies Without Borders to support BT rescue groups is its own reward and these sisters are as much fun as their dogs! - Marsha Boulton
Deb Brown
I rescued my first bull terrier, Yankee, in May of 2001. I had been smitten with the breed since I was a child, but finally it was my turn to choose the family dog! Yankee was everything I’d dreamed of and then some! Not too long after adopting him from rescue, tragedy struck our family and I became a mere shell of a person. Yankee was there, at my side-ALWAYS! It was like he was part of me. This very special bull terrier rescued me, as I, him. As I emerged from my nightmare, I realized that I needed to help others like my Yankee to find someone to love, care & protect them. I fostered, did home checks, transported and finally got involved in fund raising. Over the last 12+ years, 2 more bullies in need joined our family…..They each had their own set of issues and were not the easiest to place. You may remember them as Crazy Girl (CG) and Tank. All of the bull terrier rescue organizations started to become overwhelmed w/the sheer numbers of bullies being surrendered. That is when a small group of ladies on a list I belong to came together & decided to help raise monies. Each of us contributes in a one way or another. Heck, I even found a dog (non-bullie) & when the owner couldn’t be found after a month, and we adopted her out with a donation request to my home club-Bull Ridge Bull Terrier Rescue. People have responded with a pure heart and donated and bid and bought to make it all possible to help many bullie groups in need! It absolutely makes my heart sing when we can help to bring another bullie into a loving and proper home! Another one saved--could it be any better than that? - Deb Brown

Glenda Myers
I'm Glenda from Georgia. I got my first rescue bully about 10 years ago from the Blue Ridge Bull Terrier Club. Tess was around 5 mos. old when I got her and she was deaf. She was 11 years old and went to the bridge last year. my second rescue was out of New York about a year later; a sweet bully named Ellie. I had her 3 yrs when she went to the bridge with kidney disease. In the meantime I met this wonderful group of ladies who love all bullies. Please go to our shop and help out our rescue. I am now a proud owner of a bullterrier named...CH. BULLYHILL NO BODY”S BABY BUT MINE we call her ZIVA.
Teena Troy
My first Bull Terrier, Miss Otis in 1989 She was white with the Patch, you know back then Spuds, we got her just for a companion dog, we also had a German Shepherd named Duke, Bronz Bomber Duke. They were the best of friends, We had Miss Otis until she was 14yrs. she was a wonderful girl. Duke died from complications of Lymes at the age of 7yr. We lost them within 6 months of each other, At that time we also had Dozer, whom I started showing in conformation at the age of 6 months. Dozer earned his AKC Ch at 10 months of age, and went on to achieve many titles and awards, group placements. I literally was thrown in the show ring by my breeder of Dozer, I was at a show when Marion needed help Marion handed me a bully and said go in the ring, And you know the rest of the story.. I have been showing for 14 years now, and have had quite a bit of success in the show ring with my kids.
Dozee and I were quite a team; we have earned our Versatility Award, with the BTCA, by achieving, AKC CH. UKC CH. CGC, TDIA, ATTS, Rally Novice, Rally Advance, Delta Society Titles. Dozer and I had so much fun getting these title and awards. Dozeman is now 12 and is enjoying his life home on the couch with us. and just being Dozer!!!! I have had 3 litters in the past 5years, Dani has produced 2 wonderful litters, We now have Dante, Abby . All are doing great in the show ring,Dante has had multiple group placements, and Miss Abby has had multiple Group Placements , I am currently showing Dante and Miss Abby in the All Breed Circuit Ziva earned her AKC CH . and now is living with Glenda (bulliemom) in Georgia. Darci was a show stopper, beautiful black brindle girl. I got Darci from Phil Brodeur. Darci was the number 1 colored bull terrier in 2007; she was quite a show girl; group winner, multiple group placement, Silverwood Finalist, Specialty Winner, and BIS UKC Show Circuit. Darci had a litter of pups and they all have wonderful homes, Darci is retired and now living with Anita Bartell in Illinois and is enjoying her retired life as the queen bee.

The Bull Terrier, despite the marvelous grin, effervesce, and nearly non-stop energies---is not a breed to be taken lightly. They require loyal, loving, and responsible ownership. Too often, the breed is purchased for "that" look, and not the sensitive heart and soul of the breed. The infirm--emotionally,+ physically--pup, adult, and sorely, the aged--become the victims. I am very proud to be part of Bullies Without Borders, helping when, and where we can. I am active in Akita rescue as well! - Janeen LaFon Kilday

Bonney (Beech) Eken
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d ever own a Bull Terrier. When my husband saw an ad in the newspaper for a male bull terrier, we were beyond excited. Now I know that a newspaper ad is a questionable way to get a bully. In that moment of time, however, it was all about having a bully. Sydney was my first bully and he accompanied me through all kinds of events....good and bad. He was a funny little man and I loved him dearly. He was 15 when he left for The Bridge.
Amy came to me a few months after Sydney left. I wasn’t sure I wanted another bully so soon but after coming home to an empty house for weeks on end, I knew I needed another egghead. Sydney opened all kinds of doors to the Bull Terrier world. I have met so many wonderful people; enjoyed several Silverwood specialty shows; and constantly learn something new about this wild and crazy breed of dog. - Thanks for reading our bio page! - Beech aka Bonney

There is something so special about a bull terrier. They make you laugh
at them and yourself. Naughty little imps that get lodged in your heart and
also break it when they sashay on over that bridge. Like most of us I have
cherished them even before I had one in my life. Being a part of this
dedicated group of ladies for the last 10 years and trying so hard to help
rescue bullies is something very special to me. A big thank you to any
and all who contribute in any way to this cause. Marj Wolf

Kim Fairchild
Hi, I'm Kim Fairchild and I live in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with a husband and two bull terriers. Blessed with my very first bully, Oreo, in 2001 after research and starting with the AKC. Sadly, he is no longer with me, but his house brothers, Kobe and Harry are. Kobe is an almost 10-year-old rescue who was lovingly fostered by Lynn and John in Missouri and we adopted him gratefully at
age 2 or so. Oreo could have cared less! He's a white bully who has been the pampered pet, wins the closest to Mom game always, and has the most expressive face especially when Harry is being an eternal puppy. Harry is close to being 2 1/2 and the first bully I've had with a dark face. Lovely squinty eyes, reminds me of Clarence from Daktari when he's looking me in the eye waiting for the
fun to start. Kobe and Harry have the sweetest dispositions. Harry tends to sit on my lap and lean back in my left arm so I can scratch his belly. Spoiled? I hope so! I miss Oreo darn near every day. I'm so fortunate to have Kobe and Harry playing the game of I'm closer to Mom than you are, making Kobe fall over asleep by gently petting him on his neck and chest, and Harry learning it's
actually pretty nice to sleep on the bed for naps. I love my boys!

Ronda Tanfield
I was 8 years old when our next door neighbors emigrated from England with their two bull terriers. I had never seen a bull terrier before and I immediately fell in love with the breed. I played with Mickey and Jake often and knew that one day, I would have a bull terrier of my own. Many years later I finally realized my dream and a little brindle puppy, Elvira, came into my life and changed it forever. Several years later a red smut puppy, Ciara, arrived. I joined the BTCC and became the rescue foster home for the club for 4 years, becoming a “foster failure” when a big, all white boy named Willy made our pack complete. I am currently on the Board of Just 4 Keeps Bull Terrier Rescue, here in Canada, and now that Elvira, Ciara and Willy are together again at the Bridge, there is just my current sweet rescue boy Oliver and I now. I owe so much to these silly, eggheaded dogs. They have pulled me into a world of social activities, found me dear new friends that have become my family, led me through the dark times, made me laugh, given me unconditional love…I owe them so much. I truly am honored to be accepted as the newest member of Bullies Without Borders. I have always admired and respected this group of ladies and all they have accomplished, raising much needed funds for bull terrier rescue.
